Country Programme Implementation

  • The programmes developed in each country by the TECCs were largely EE in character, although most of them used training as there method. The TECCs agreed to take the UNESCO approach within their programme activities. This approach states that:

  • "Environmental Education is a permanent process in which individuals gain awareness of their environment and acquire the knowledge, values, skills, experiences, and also the determination which enable them to act - individually and collectively - to solve present and future environmental problems". (UNESCO 1987)
